A-VIEW is customizable: Krish Gopal 21 March, 2012
An interactive session on – An overview about A-VIEW Features and Nationwide Deployment was conducted as part of the National Weekly Discussions through A-VIEW envisaged by MHRD under NME-ICT on 21st March 2012.
Shri Krish Gopalasamy, Associate Director, Amrita E-Learning Research Lab was the chief guest on the occasion.
While interacting with the participants, Shri Gopal, said a dozen of novel features will be integrated in the next version of A-VIEW. “Our R&D wing is industriously developing a bunch of ultra-modern features such as Face Recognition, Attention Analysis, Handwriting recognition and Application sharing,” he said.
He emphasized that A-VIEW is an ideal e-learning tool for India’s educational system. “Through A-VIEW, classes can be transmitted to various states in local flavour with limited infrastructure,” said Shri Gopal.
It is a computer application for identifying a person. And, it will be used for logging into A-VIEW.
It automatically identifies the attentive stages of a person while attending a virtual class.
Through this facility, faculties can create question banks, create question papers, schedule quiz and view students’ performance. “Teachers can ask questions to students during a live class and students can reply either via mobile phone or A-VIEW,” Shri Gopal added.
Answering to a question raised by Academy of Medical Sciences Pariyaram, he said to attend a particular class, the user (University / College) must register for that course first.
Around 26 Universities including Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology, VELTECH Technical University, Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University, Mumbai University, Indian School of Mines and Sastra University attended the interactive online session.
A-VIEW is an E-Learning platform, developed by Amrita University's E-Learning Research Lab, which is a state-of-the-art software for distance education and collaboration. It is available for free to all the educational institutes across India, and can be downloaded from the website address, www.aview.in or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
