A-VIEW used in workshop on Thermodynamics 14 June 2011 - 24 June 2011
A-VIEW Classroom connected 36 colleges nestled in remote areas and more than 800 faculties participated. The workshop on Thermodynamics in Mechanical Engineering organized by the IIT-Bombay through A-VIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive E-Learning World), developed by Amrita E-Learning Research Lab, Kollam, was a grand success by its innovative way of presentation style, content delivery and teaching methodology.
A-VIEW, the versatile e-learning tool, helped the organizers to connect remote centres in each college sans disruption and delay.
A-VIEW Classroom connected 36 colleges nestled in remote areas and more than 800 people participated in the two-week workshop which was held from 14th to 24th June 2011.
Eminent faculties from IIT-Bombay delivered live lectures to participants (professors) who attended from a remote center near their own college. Tutorial and lab sessions were conducted in the same centers. Each center had a course Coordinator, who supervised the conduct of tutorials and Labs. All the lectures and tutorial sessions were recorded, and the edited audio-visual contents, along with other course materials will be released soon. It can be freely used later by all teachers and students.
Prof. Kannan Moudgalya of IIT-Bombay was the chief guest in the valedictory function.
Prof. U. V. Bhandarkar and Prof. U.N. Gaitonde of Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay spearheaded the workshops.
The participants from various colleges appreciated the A-VIEW team for providing outstanding interactive sessions.
