Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Director, Amrita E-Learning Lab was the chief guest in the National Weekly Discussion through A-VIEW envisaged by MHRD under NME-ICT mission on February 15, 2012. The topic of the session was A-VIEW Setups: From Studios to Mobiles.

Prof. Kamal gave a detailed lecture on Amrita University’s e-learning platform A-VIEW, its features and how it can be set up.

Simple set up

While interacting with the participants, he highlighted that A-VIEW can be set up through minimal infrastructure. “With one laptop / personal computer, mike inbuilt headset and webcam, A-VIEW can be used to conduct live class. And, it is the hallmark of A-VIEW,” he said.

Live session

He demonstrated how to use writing devices such as Take Note, U Board etc. However, the highlight of the weekly program was that it was accessible live via Android supported Samsung mobile.

Around 32 Universities including B.P.C.A.'S College of Physical Education, Mumbai, Vidya Pratishthans College of Engineering, Baramati, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Chanakya National Law University, Jayoti Vidyapeeth Womens University, Jaipur, National Law University Orissa, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Sastra University and Tezpur University, Assam, participated in the session.

A-VIEW is an E-Learning platform, developed by Amrita University's E-Learning Research Lab, which is a state-of-the-art software for distance education and collaboration.
