Introduction to Research Hypothesis 10 July, 2013
Dr. Sriram Devanathan, Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, led the Weekly Discussion on the topic “Introduction to Research Hypothesis”. The session was broadcasted live through A-VIEW on 10th July 2013 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Dr. Sriram had enlightened the audience by introducing various research methodologies and the need of hypothesis. He emphasized that hypothesis; a tentative answer to a research question can be attained by a series of procedures and operational definitions. He explained different types of hypothesis & its purpose with various examples and the right choice of research question for a resultant and for getting approval from the experts.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Sriram Devanathan joined Amrita with ten years of industrial experience at the 3M Company in Minnesota, Texas and California (USA) and seven years experience in academic research as a graduate student at Iowa State University, USA, where he also received his Ph. D.
He has a Certificate of Six Sigma Black Belt Training from 3M, and has successfully led quality improvement/cost reduction projects in various 3M Company manufacturing plants in the US, Canada, Singapore and Japan. He has trained over 600 engineers, managers and operators in statistical methodology and software and Six Sigma.
Dr. Sriram has significant expertise in CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and Internal Auditing. He is the author of several publications in US technical journals. His areas of interest include Six Sigma, Fault Diagnosis, Empirical Modeling, Data Mining, Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and Process Modeling & Simulation.
