Steps to set up an A-VIEW Studio

As part of the National Weekly Discussions envisaged by MHRD under NME-ICT mission, an interactive session on Step by Step Approach to Setting up an A-VIEW Studio was conducted on May 2, 2012.

Shri Abhay Ramesh, Assistant Manager – Marketing, Amrita E-Learning Research Lab was the presenter.

He gave an overview about how an e-learning studio functions and equipment (hardware and audio) required to setting up an A-VIEW Studio on the occasion.



Acoustic Studio: Delivers the best

While interacting with the participants, Shri Abhay said Acoustic Studio is very significant to conduct quality online lectures. “By offering optimum audio and best ambience, Acoustic Studio helps to conduct hassle-free live sessions. In addition to this, using Acoustic Studio will make the session more interesting,” he added.

Equipment required

Answering to a question raised by Sona College of Technology, Shri Abhay said equipment required in A-VIEW Studio are; Audio Mixer, Digital / Analog Audio Mixer, Studio Microphones, PA Speakers, Subwoofers and Stage Monitor Speaker.

Price range

In reply to a question by University of Mysore, he said the cost of the studio mainly depends upon the functionalities required. “Normally, a simple studio can be developed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. If we go for swanky equipment, price may increase,” he added.

Participants

Around 16 Universities including Government Law College Holenarasipura, Lingaya's University, Ganpat University Mehsana, IASE University Rajasthan, Indian school of Mines Dhanbad, Periyar Maniammai University and Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University attended the online session.

A-VIEW is an E-Learning platform, developed by Amrita University's E-Learning Research Lab, which is a state-of-the-art software for distance education and collaboration.
