Use Six Sigma to achieve overall excellence in education 07 March, 2012
Eminent Six Sigma expert, Dr. Sriram Devanathan, was the chief guest in the National Weekly Discussion through A-VIEW envisaged by MHRD under the NME-ICT mission on March 7, 2012. The topic of the session was Six Sigma for Education Technology.
While interacting with the participating universities, Dr. Sriram, Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Amrita University, Coimbatore, said Six Sigma is a disciplined, data-driven approach of continually improving quality and productivity to achieve profit.
“By implementing Six Sigma, an organization can produce not only excellent product but also can maintain highly efficient production and administrative systems,” he said.
He urged all educational institutions in the country to use Six Sigma strategies to achieve overall excellence in the field of education.

On the occasion, Dr. Sriram briefed the current status of Six Sigma implementation in A-VIEW project.
Around 17 Universities including Jain University, Punjab Technical University, KIIT University, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Punjab University and Indian School of Mines Dhanbad attended the online interaction.
A-VIEW is an E-Learning platform, developed by Amrita University's E-Learning Research Lab, which is a state-of-the-art software for distance education and collaboration.
