SBI PO Exam Pattern
The SBI PO selection process consists of three stages, starting with the written exams conducted online, followed by an interview round. The exam structure is as follows:
Phase 1 – SBI PO Preliminary Examination
The SBI PO Prelims Exam is conducted online and candidates have one hour to solve the question paper for 100 marks. The test comprises three sections. It’s important to note that the sectional cut-off in the Preliminary Exam has been removed, and the overall score of all sections will be considered for selection to the next round. The cut-off or minimum passing marks for each section is decided by the Bank each year based on the difficulty level of the test. Here’s the section-wise division of marks:

- The Objective paper comprises of 4 sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation & General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, and English Language.
- The Descriptive paper is conducted along with the online test and consists of 2 questions.

Penalty for Wrong Answers
For both the Prelims and Mains Exam, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrectly attempted question. However, if a question is left unattempted or blank, no marks will be deducted.
