IBPS PO Exam Pattern
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has implemented individual section timing for each section in the preliminary exam of the IBPS PO exam (CRP XIII). This exam is conducted online in two parts: Tier 1, also known as the IBPS Preliminary Exam, and Tier 2, also known as the IBPS Mains Exam, for recruiting suitable candidates. After successfully completing these exams, candidates are required to attend a face-to-face interview process.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern
The online mode IBPS PO preliminary examination comprises three sections and has a total duration of one hour and twenty minutes. It consists of 100 questions in total, and the maximum score is 100 marks. Negative marking applies in the IBPS PO Prelims Exam, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates must attain the cut-off score in all three sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. The section-wise details are provided below:

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern
The IBPS PO Main exam is administered in an online format and consists of five sections, four of which scored 200 marks and the fifth is a descriptive paper that scored 25 marks. The total duration of the exam is 180 minutes, with an additional 30 minutes allotted for the descriptive section. It is important to note that the sections must be attempted in order and within the allotted time specified during the exam.
To be considered for the interview process, candidates must successfully pass both the preliminary and main examinations. The main exam includes a descriptive paper that is used to evaluate the writing skills of candidates applying for the position of Probationary Officer.
