JEE Main 2023 For Session 2: The NTA conducts the JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main), which is a nationwide entrance exam that selects students for admission in BE/ BTech, BPlan, and BArch courses at various CFTIs, NITs, and IITs. It also serves as the eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which allows admission to various UG and dual engineering programs offered by the IITs in India. The first session of JEE Main Exam has concluded, and the results have been declared. The registration process for the second session of JEE Main 2023 began on 15th February 2023 and will be active till 12th March 2023.  The NTA has released the registration dates along with the NTA JEE Main 2023 brochure on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2023 Notification For Session 2

NTA released the JEE Main 2023 Notification, inviting online application forms for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – Session 2, which is scheduled on the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th of April 2023. JEE Main 2023 Session 2 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

JEE Main 2023 does not have any age limit criteria for candidates applying to appear for the exam. However, the candidate must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination in the year 2021 or 2022 or must be appearing for the same in the year 2023.

Educational Qualifications

For JEE Main 2023, the educational qualifications required for candidates are as follows:

  • For BE/ BTech: The candidate must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject as one of the subjects. They must have also secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.
  • For BArch: The candidate must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. They must have also secured at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • For BPlan: The candidate must have passed their class 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

How To Fill JEE Main 2023 Application Form?

To fill out the JEE Main 2023 Application Form, follow the steps below:

  • Visit the official website of JEE Main 2023.
  • Click on the link to the JEE Main 2023 Application Form.
  • Register yourself by providing the necessary details like name, email id, phone number, and password.
  • After registration, log in to the JEE Main 2023 portal using the provided credentials.
  • Fill in all the required details in the application form, such as personal information, educational qualification, and contact details.
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature in the specified format and size.
  • Pay the application fee through the available payment modes.
  • Review and verify all the entered details before submitting the application form.
  • Finally, click on the “Submit” button to complete the application process.
  • After submitting the application form, a confirmation page will be generated. Keep a printout of the same for future reference.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2023 Session 2

The following documents are required to be uploaded while filling out the JEE Main 2023 Application Form:

  • Scanned copy of the passport-size photograph in JPEG format
  • Scanned copy of signature in JPEG format
  • Class 10th and 12th mark sheet or certificate in PDF format
  • Category certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
  • PwD certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
  • It is advisable to keep all the original documents ready and available for verification during the counseling process.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2023 for Session 2

The JEE Main 2023 exam pattern for session 2 is as follows:

For BE/ BTech:

  • Mode of examination: Computer-based test (CBT)
  • Duration of examination: 3 hours
  • Total number of questions: 90 (30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics)
  • Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical value-based questions
  • Marking scheme: 4 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for each incorrect answer
  • Total marks: 300

For BArch:

  • Mode of examination: Mathematics and Aptitude test will be computer-based while Drawing test will be pen-and-paper based
  • Duration of examination: 3 hours
  • Total number of questions: 82  (Mathematics – 30, Aptitude – 50, Drawing – 2)
  • Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs), numerical value-based questions, and drawing questions
  • Marking scheme: Mathematics and Aptitude – 4 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for each incorrect answer; Drawing – 100 marks for two questions
  • Total marks: 400

For BPlan:

  • Mode of examination: Computer-based test (CBT)
  • Duration of examination: 3 hours
  • Total number of questions: 105 (70 questions each from Mathematics and Aptitude, Planning 25 Questions)

JEE Main 2023 Admit Card

The JEE Main 2023 Session 2 Hall ticket is expected to be released in the last week of March 2023. Candidates are advised to carefully read all the instructions given on the admit card. If any discrepancies are found in the details, candidates must immediately contact the official authority. Candidates must carry their JEE Main admit card to the exam, as no candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination without it. It is recommended that candidates take a printout of the admit card and keep it safe for future reference. The JEE Main admit card will be available online only on the official website.

JEE Main 2023 Answer Key

The official JEE Main 2023 Answer key for the second session will be released after the commencement of the examination. Candidates can download the official answer key by logging in to the NTA website. Candidates also have the option to challenge the answer key. If candidates wish to challenge the JEE Main answer key, they will need to pay Rs. 200/- per question. The authority will also release the recorded response and question paper attempted by the candidates two or three days before the announcement of the result.

JEE Main 2023 Result

The officials announced the JEE Main 2023 session 1 result on 6th February 2023 on the authorized website. The result date for the JEE Main 2023 session 2 exam will be revealed on the NTA’s website once the final answer keys are published. To check their JEE Main 2023 results, candidates need to log in to the JEE Main 2023 portal by entering their application number and date of birth. The result will be based on the final answer key published by the authority, and no provision is made for result re-evaluation or re-checking.

JEE Main 2023 Cut Off

The JEE Main 2023 cut off for the session 1 exam was released on the official website along with the result. The cut off was different for different categories like General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD. The cut off for session 1 exam for general category students was 90.3765335, while for OBC-NCL students it was 70.2435518. The cut off for SC, ST, and PwD categories were 50.1760245, 39.0696101, and 0.0618524, respectively. Candidates who meet the JEE Main cut off for their respective categories will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2023.
