RBI Grade B Citizenship & Nationality
The eligibility criteria for the candidate are as follows:
- Must be an Indian citizen
- Must be a Nepalese citizen
- Must be a Bhutanese citizen
- Must be a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling permanently in India.
- A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
RBI Grade B Age Limit
The RBI Officer (Grade ‘B’) examination has a minimum age requirement defined by the RBI. To apply for the RBI Grade B exam 2023, candidates must be between the ages of 21 years and 30 years, inclusive. However, for candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years, respectively.

Alternatively, candidates with a post-graduation degree or an equivalent technical qualification should have a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.
Note: Candidates who have completed a full-time course of at least 3 years’ duration from a recognized university or institute after Class XII or possess professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government as equivalent to professional and technical graduation are eligible for admission to the examination. In addition, candidates who have passed the Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India are also eligible to apply for the post. Alternatively, candidates who have completed a full-time course of at least 2 years’ duration from a recognized university or institute after graduation, or have a qualification recognized by the government as equivalent to post-graduation, are eligible for admission to the examination. |

RBI Grade B 2023 Salary
The RBI Grade B Officer’s pay scale is Rs. 55,200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750(16 years). This indicates that the basic pay will be Rs. 55,200/- with an annual increment of Rs. 2850/- for the first nine years of service. After nine years, the basic pay will be Rs. 80,850/-, and for the next two years, an annual increment of Rs. 2850/- will be given, followed by an annual increment of Rs. 3300/- for the following four years, resulting in basic pay of Rs. 99,750/-. This is the pay scale without any promotions. Additionally, various emoluments, including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, etc., will also be provided.

In the RBI Grade B 2023 exam, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in the objective type papers of both Prelims and Mains examinations. However, there is no negative marking for unanswered questions or for questions that are left unattempted.
