RRB NTPC Exam Pattern

The process of recruitment for this position will include four stages: 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/ Computer Based Aptitude Test (as applicable), and Document Verification/ Medical Examination. Selection for the position will be made purely based on merit and the performance of the candidate in each of these recruitment stages.

RRB NTPC Stage 1 Exam Pattern

The RRB NTPC CBT 1 Exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 Minutes. There will be a negative marking and a 1/3 mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer. And the normalized score of the 1st Stage Exam shall be used for shortlisting candidates for the 2nd Stage Computer Based Test as per their merit.

RRB NTPC Stage 2 Exam Pattern

For PWD candidates, the exam duration will be 120 minutes. A negative marking of 1/3 will be applicable. The level of questions will vary according to the different levels of posts. The marks will be normalized to ensure fairness in the evaluation process.

RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

• To qualify for the positions of SM/TA, candidates must clear all test batteries of CBAT. The questions and answer options in the CBAT will be available only in English and Hindi. Furthermore, there will be no negative marking in CBAT.
• The merit list will be drawn from among the candidates who qualify in the CBAT, with 70% weightage given to the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage given to the marks obtained in the CBAT.

Typing Skill Test (TST)

• Qualifying in nature.
• The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility
• Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for typing test.

Document Verification

After the completion of the 2nd Stage of Computer Based Test (CBT), the candidates’ performance will be evaluated. Subsequently, based on their performance in both the 2nd Stage CBT and the Typing Skill Test/ Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT/ TST) (as applicable), candidates equivalent to the number of available vacancies will be shortlisted for the Document Verification stage. The selection will be strictly based on merit and preferences chosen by the candidates.
