To prepare for the RBI Grade B Exam, candidates must understand the exam pattern. Here, we will discuss the RBI Grade B Exam Pattern for both the Preliminary and Main Exams in detail.
RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Pattern
The RBI Grade B Officer Exam is conducted online and consists of four sections. The total marks allotted for all the sections are 200, and candidates will have a total of 120 minutes to complete the exam. Each section will have a separate time limit, which will be provided in an information handout along with the admit card. We have given the exam pattern based on last year’s notification. Moreover, to qualify for the next round, candidates must obtain minimum marks in each test as well as in aggregate. Additionally, for every incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern for DR (General)
The RBI Grade B Mains exam for the General category officers has a total of 300 marks. The Mains exam consists of three papers: Paper-I, Paper II, and Paper III. All candidates are required to appear for all the shifts, for which separate admission letters will be issued. Only those candidates who qualify in Phase-I and meet the cut-off criteria set by the Board will be eligible to take the Phase II online examination. The Phase-II exam will be conducted in shifts, and candidates must appear for all shifts.

The selection of candidates for the RBI Grade B (DR) – DEPR will be based on an Online/ Written Examination and an Interview. The examination comprises three papers, with Paper I being an objective type on economics, while Paper II and III are descriptive types. Candidates who obtain the minimum aggregate marks as prescribed in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II or Paper III, based on their performance in Paper I. The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in all three papers and the interview round, which carries a weightage of 75 marks.

Candidates scoring minimum aggregate marks as prescribed in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II/ Paper III of the examination based on the marks obtained in Paper-I. RBI Grade B Interview
After the preliminary and mains exam, candidates who qualify for both exams will be called for an interview process which carries a weightage of 75 marks. The shortlisting of candidates for the interview will be based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III) and the minimum aggregate cut-off marks will be decided by the Board about the number of vacancies. The roll numbers of shortlisted candidates for the interview will be published on the RBI website and the interview call letters will be sent to the registered email ID. Candidates can choose to appear for the interview either in Hindi or English. The final selection will be based on the merit list, which will be prepared by adding marks obtained by candidates in the Phase-II exam and the interview.
