The selection process for the RBI Assistant 2023 exam will comprise three phases. Candidates must qualify in each stage of the selection process to secure the job opportunity of Assistant in the banking sector.

The RBI Assistant Prelims Exam will comprise 100 questions from 3 sections, which are English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The exam duration will be 60 minutes with each section allocated a time of 20 minutes. For every incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks and no deduction for unanswered questions. The exam questions will be of objective type, and except for the English language, other sections will be available in both English and Hindi. However, the marks obtained in the Prelims Exam will not be counted in the merit list as the exam is considered qualifying in nature.

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern
The RBI Assistant Mains Exam consists of 200 questions from five sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Reasoning Ability. The duration of the exam is 135 minutes, with section-wise timing specified below. Incorrect answers will be penalized with a deduction of 0.25 marks, while no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. All questions will be of the Objective type. While the English Language section will only be in English, the other sections will be available in both English and Hindi. Candidates who qualify for the Mains Exam will be called for a Language Proficiency Test, and their marks will be considered in preparing the merit list.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination for the RBI Assistant Exam will be required to undergo a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). This test will be conducted in the Official/ Local Language of the State concerned, as specified below. Candidates who are found to be not proficient in the official/ local language will be disqualified. The number of candidates called for the Language Proficiency Test will be limited to those who have achieved sufficiently high merit based on the aggregate marks of the main online examination. Moreover, the officials of the RBI will determine such merit in relation to the number of notified vacancies to be filled.
