Dr. T. P. Sethumadhavan, Academic Consultant and Officer on Special Duty, Directorate of Entrepreneurship, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Thrissur was the chief guest in the weekly session of Online Gurukul held on April 10, 2012.
The topic of the session was Sunrise Careers of 2012.
CA: A lucrative sector
“The demand for chartered accountants is increasing day by day in India as well as in abroad. As the Indian economy is expected to grow above 8.5 per cent, prospects for chartered accountants are very promising. The experience and expertise of CAs are being utilized mainly in insurance, information technology, public finance etc.,” said eminent career expert Dr. Sethumadhavan.

Answering to a question, he said any graduates can apply for the post of Bank Probationary Officer. “According to sources, around 50,000 vacancies are expected in this sector in public sector banks in 2012.”
Dr. Sethumadhavan said Actuaries are experts in assessing the financial impact of tomorrow's uncertain events. “It is an untapped sector, hence there is huge demand for Actuaries across the country. Actuaries are one of the highest paid professionals in the world,” he said.

Ayurveda: Immense scope
Answering to a question, Dr. Sethumadhavan said Ayurveda is an integral part of Medical Tourism and the popularity of Ayurveda is increasing globally. Therefore, Ayurveda physicians are in great demand in Germany, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States (U.S.) and the West Asian countries.
